ridge near 37s129e/high 1036hpa 42s158e/48s170e slow-moving and forecast near
34s129e/high 1032hpa 43s162e/45s170e at 051100utc, and near 37s129e/high 1029hpa
43s164e/43s170e at 052300utc. Low developing near southern Queensland coast and
forecast 1012hpa near 29s153e at 042300utc, 1008hpa near 32s155e at 051100utc,
and 1004hpa near 33s156e at 052300utc. Main cold front near 40s119e/50s133e
forecast near 40s129e/45s140e/50s150e at 051100utc, and near 38s129e/45s141e at
052300utc.
Part 3 forecast
within 150nm of high, and also north of ridge but west of 150e.
Variable wind to 15 knots. Slight sea. Low to moderate swell.
Rest north of ridge.
Southerly wind east of high and south of about 35s generally tending easterly
quarter elsewhere, however wind clockwise within about 400nm of low. Wind 10/20
knots near ridge with slight to moderate sea, 20/33 knots elsewhere outside of
warning area with moderate to rough sea, but further strengthening to 34/45
knots in gale area with very rough sea. Mainly moderate swell rising to heavy in
gale area. Scattered showers away from ridge tending to rain and isolated
thunderstorms towards low with visibility reduced to less than 3nm.
Rest east of front.
North to northwesterly wind 10/20 knots near ridge with slight to moderate sea.
Wind 20/33 knots elsewhere with moderate to rough sea increasing to 34/45 knots
in gale areas with very rough sea. Note that area of gales expected to gradually
contract southeastwards. Mostly heavy swell. Patchy rain near front and
scattered showers elsewhere away from ridge with visibility reduced to 3nm.
Rest.
Generally westerly quarter wind 20/30 knots, increasing to 34/40 knots with
rough to very rough sea in the far southeast of area after 051500utc. However,
wind tending more southerly and easing to 10/20 knots in the northwest of area
after 050600utc with moderate to rough sea abating. Moderate to heavy swell.
Visibility reduced to 3nm in scattered showers.
