Synopsis For The Middle Texas Coastal Waters
A weak to moderate east flow is expected through tonight. Weak to moderate northeast flow will develop Sunday...in response to Hurricane Gustav. Gustav is forecast to enter the southeast Gulf of Mexico on Sunday morning and make landfall along the northern Gulf Coast by Tuesday. Winds will respond by becoming offshore by Monday. The main concern for mariners is expected to be large swells from Gustav. These swells are expected to reach the middle Texas coastal waters by late Sunday into Monday. Mariners should closely monitor the track forecasts of Gustav from the National Hurricane Center.
