Weak high pres will return into Mon...then pass E of the area Mon night. An approaching cold front will cross the waters on Tue...followed by high pres on Wed. Se swell from distant Hurricane Ike will begin to arrive on the ocean waters during this time as well. boating community. Mariners are advised to remain in port until
the tropical storm threat has passed. Boat owners and Marina
operators in the warning area should prepare quickly for tropical
storm conditions.

As the storm tracks just south of New York Harbor... across Long
Island... into eastern Long Island Sound from this evening into the
early morning hours... Hanna is expected to produce sustained winds
of 40 to 45 kt with gusts to 55 kt... mainly east of the center. If
the storm moves as forecast... these strongest winds will remain
over the waters south and along the eastern portion of Long
Island.

Isolated tornadoes and waterspouts will be possible east of the
track of Hanna... with the greatest threat over the waters near
eastern Long Island.
