Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a coastal
Flood Advisory... which is in effect from 1 am EDT to 6 am EST
Sunday.

* Location... Outer Banks Currituck County North Carolina... including
Duck Pier.

* Timing/impacts... minor flooding possible within 2 to 3 hours on
either side of high tide tonight.

* Tides... tidal departures will average 1.5 to 2.5 ft above normal
during high tide late tonight. At Duck... high tide occurs at
245 am EST tonight. A peak water level of 5.9 feet MLLW is
expected late tonight. Minor flooding begins at 5.5 feet MLLW.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds... tides and
/or wave action will combine to create flooding of low areas
along the shore... and near tidal rivers and creeks. Be prepared
for the possibility of Road closures and minor flooding of
properties. If travel is necessary... do not attempt to drive
through water of unknown depth.

Advisory... which is in effect from 7 PM EDT this evening to 7 am
EST Sunday.

* Areas affected: coastal portions of northeast North Carolina.

* Winds: north to northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph.

* Timing: this evening through early Sunday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 35 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
