Areal Flood Advisory  Statement as of 6:12 PM MST on July 19, 2008

The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* small stream flood advisory for...
south central Gila County in east central Arizona...

* until 800 PM MST

* at 558 PM MST... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
an area of thunderstorms over portions of southern Gila County near
cutter producing very heavy rainfall. Radar rainfall estimates of up
to 2 inches per hour... with rainfall totals of 1.5 inches over the
past hour.

Areas that will continue to be affected and experience heavy
rainfall rates include the area around cutter... Highway 70... and the
Coolidge Dam Road to San Carlos lake. Flow is likely in small
streams and washes including Ranch Creek and Gilson Wash.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads.

When encountering flooded roads make the smart choice... turn
around... dont drown.
