Part 3 forecast
east of trough.
Northerly quarter wind 10/20 knots at first in the far east with slight to
moderate sea. Wind increasing to 20/30 knots westwards towards deepening trough
with moderate to rough sea, but reaching 30/45 knots at times in gale areas with
very rough sea. Low to moderate swell in the north grading to moderate to heavy
in the south. Scattered showers near weak low, and rain areas towards trough,
with visibility reduced to 3nm.
Rest.
Wind becoming clockwise within about 400nm of low. Southerly quarter wind
elsewhere gradually tending westerly quarter. Wind generally 20/30 knots with
moderate to rough sea, but reaching 30/40 knots in gale areas with very rough
sea. Gales redeveloping in far southwest near the end of the forecast period.
Wind easing to 10/20 knots over northern bight by 302300utc with sea abating
slight to moderate. Moderate to heavy swell. Showers, more widespread near
low/trough and fronts, with visibility reduced to 3nm.
