Synopsis For The Suwannee River To Destin Out To 60 Nm
Synopsis
The sharp pressure difference between higher pressure over the mid Atlantic states and Tropical Storm Ida in the northwest Caribbean will maintain high winds and seas for the next several days. At 7 am EST Ida was located near 17.4 degrees north and 84.1 degrees west...or about 280 miles southeast of Cozumel Mexico. Ida is forecast to strengthen a bit more but remain a tropical storm as it accelerates northward over the next few days and enters the Gulf. Gale force winds will be possible across portions of the northeast Gulf early this week as Ida moves into the central Gulf. Ida is then expected to merge with a cold front while becoming non- tropical and gradually weakening by mid week. Boaters should closely monitor the progress of Ida.
