Synopsis For High Island To Matagorda Ship Channel Out 60 Nm
The deep low pressure system that has produced all the rain and strong winds is expected to move slowly east across the area tonight. This system has and will continue to produce scattered thunderstorms...strong easterly winds and elevated seas through early Saturday morning. Conditions should improve through the day on Saturday as this large storm system moves northeast of the region.

Northeast winds 20 to 30 knots becoming north 15 to 25 knots after midnight. Seas 6 to 9 feet. Showers and thunderstorms likely in the evening...then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight.
Saturday
North winds 15 to 20 knots decreasing to 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Seas 6 to 8 feet. A slight chance of showers in the morning.
Saturday Night
Northeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet after midnight.
Sunday
East winds around 10 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet.

Southeast winds around 10 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet.

Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet.

nm...
waters from High Island to Freeport TX from 20 to 60 nm...

* until 130 am CST

* at 1124 PM CST... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
clusters of strong thunderstorms... producing strong winds 34 knots
or greater 55 nm south of Freeport... moving northeast at 20 knots.
A surface low is forming on the edge of the coastal waters and
strong thunderstorms will continue to develop the next two hours.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Mariners can expect gusty winds... high waves... dangerous lightning...
and heavy rains. Boaters should seek safe Harbor immediately... until
this storm passes.

Please report severe weather to the County sheriff... local police...
or department of public safety and ask them to relay your report to
the National Weather Service.
