Synopsis For The Middle Texas Coastal Waters
A weak to moderate onshore flow is expected through Saturday as high pressure over the northern Gulf of Mexico continues. Gustav is forecast to enter the southeast Gulf of Mexico on Sunday morning and continue across the Gulf into Louisiana by Tuesday. Winds will respond by becoming offshore Sunday night and remaining northwesterly through Tuesday. At this time...the main concern for mariners appears to be swells from Gustav. These swells are expected to reach the middle Texas coastal waters by Monday. Mariners should closely monitor the track forecasts of Gustav from the National Hurricane Center.
