Discussion...
428 am
the base pattern of warm to hot temperatures and little if any
rainfall will continue.

We do have some low end rain chances through the seven day
forecast period...mainly in the southern zones. Any rain that
does move northward from south Texas will be associated with the
so-called monsonal flow of moisture from the Gulf...which will be
most active in the late morning and afternoon hours.

A few showers/thunderstorms could wander south from Oklahoma...where
a weakening frontal system will give rise to daily showers and
thunderstorms. Obviously this would bring some relief to extreme
northern portions of North Texas during the week.
However...widespread rainfall is not expected...and most of the
storms are likely to stay north of the Red River.

The middle-level ridge across the area likely will remain in
place...keeping the vast majority of North Texas dry.
Unfortunately...the long range computer models indicate that the
ridge will be upon North Texas for awhile...possibly for several
weeks.
