Short term...today through Sunday night...a weather disturbance is 
currently located off the Pacific northwest coast. Clouds are 
increasing across the region...and will continue over the morning as 
this system moves inland. Most of the energy will move north of the 
region...with mainly clouds expected over the area today...though a 
few showers are possible along the Cascade crest today and tonight. 
Winds will be breezy in the Kittitas Valley and eastern Columbia 
River gorge as pressure gradients increase this afternoon and 
evening with the passage of the system. A westerly flow then sets up 
over the region as a ridge of high pressure begins to build off the 
Pacific northwest coast on Sunday. Skies will begin to clear across 
the region by Sunday night as the ridge continues to build offshore.

Long term...Monday through Friday...a flat upper level ridge of 
high pressure will persist through Wednesday night with the ridge 
axis easing on to the east by Thursday allowing winds aloft to back 
to the southwest. Then an upper level trough traverses the interior 
Pacific northwest on Friday bring a weak...dry cold front through 
the region for a modest cool down. With a lack of moisture and 
dynamic forcing the period from Monday through Friday looks to be

Aviation...12z tafs...VFR conditions will prevail for the next 24 
hours. There will a few cumulus buildups this afternoon over the 
mountains of northeast Oregon and southeast Washington. Winds will 
less than 15 knots at taf sites...except at kdls where winds will 
increase to around 15 knots with gusts to 25 knots this afternoon.
