NWS Forecaster Discussion
667 fxus64 ktsa 082005 afdtsa Area forecast discussion National Weather Service Tulsa OK 305 PM CDT Friday Aug 8 2008 Discussion... surface cold front is well south of the forecast area this afternoon with drier air filtering into the region. Dew points are generally in the 50s and 60s across the area except across extreme southeast Oklahoma. This will result in cooler temperatures tonight with limited chances of showers and thunderstorms. The chances of showers and thunderstorms will increase on Saturday as the frontal boundary makes a return to the north and a middle-level shortwave moves out of The Rockies and across the plains. The main concern Saturday night into Sunday will be heavy rain. 1 to 3 inches of rain will be possible during this time-frame especially across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. The chances of showers and thunderstorms will continue through Monday as the frontal boundary lingers in the area. Will keep the Tuesday through Friday portion of the forecast dry. However...there could be an opportunity for showers and thunderstorms Thursday night into Friday. && Preliminary point temps/pops... tul 69 86 73 85 / 10 70 70 50 fsm 67 89 71 86 / 0 40 60 70 mlc 69 88 73 89 / 10 40 60 30 bvo 63 85 68 85 / 10 70 80 50 fyv 59 84 67 81 / 0 50 70 70 byv 61 83 66 79 / 0 50 70 60 mko 67 86 70 83 / 10 60 60 60 Mio 64 85 69 83 / 10 70 80 50 f10 69 89 71 87 / 10 50 60 40 hhw 68 90 76 91 / 10 40 60 30 && Tsa watches/warnings/advisories...
