Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Tulsa OK
329 PM CDT Friday Jul 18 2008

Discussion...
persistent band of light showers associated with middle level shear
axis remains along the Kansas...Oklahoma border this afternoon.
Isolated thunderstorms will develop within this area and could
persist through early Saturday morning. Pop forecast for tonight
basically follows mav guidance with slight chance included along
the border.

Other than that a typical middle Summer forecast coming up with the
main issue being the lingering effect of moist soils across
mainly northern areas. This impact is now likely to become less
pronounced in the coming days. Could see first 100 degree
readings of the season across southeast OK as middle level heights
continue to build over the weekend. To the north will continue to
undercut mav/mex highs through that time.

Will continue with a dry forecast through next week...however a
weak back-door front could com into play late next week as upper
ridge retrogrades and upper flow becomes more northwesterly.
