Synopsis...
daytime heating brought showers to portions of Guam this
afternoon.

&&

Discussion...
left forecast basically as is with only a few tweaks here and
there. Added a slight chance of thunderstorms for Sunday
afternoon...figuring things tomorrow will be the same. Did split
zones. I have mixed feelings about the likelihood of the
scattered showers and their duration. With the models continuing
to show the showers felt I could not take it out. Also did not
want to flip- flop on the forecast.

&&

Marine...
sea and swells are low and will remain low the coming week. There
are no big swells or high wind events expected that would generate
higher seas and swell.

&&

Eastern micronesia...
an intensifying trade-wind disturbance is affecting Majuro this
evening and will move westward into Kosrae and Pohnpei during the
next couple of days. Aided by an upper-level trough in the
vicinity...a few thunderstorms are possible over Majuro tonight
into Sunday evening. For Kosrae...clouds will thicken on Sunday
afternoon with showers arriving by evening. Pohnpei can expect 24
to 36 hours of fair conditions before going downhill by Monday
evening. However...there is a potential for island thunderstorms
on Sunday due to light surface winds. Have not included
thunderstorms in the forecast yet but next shift forecaster might
want to consider that. A moderate trade surge following the
disturbance will usher in drier weather into the Marshalls by
Monday evening...Kosrae on Tuesday and Pohnpei by midweek.

&&

Western micronesia...
convection is likely to continue near Chuuk tonight into Sunday
morning as an area of trade convergence passes through. Light winds
and isolated trade-wind showers are then anticipated through Monday
evening. Afterward...trade disturbance approaching from the east
will impact the island by Tuesday.

A surface ridge is beginning to push into Yap this evening.
Clouds will give way to sunshine by Sunday and drying trend will
persist into midweek. Troughing from low to upper levels will
provide favorable conditions for shower formation with a few
thunderstorms over Palau tonight into Sunday night. Then a ridge
building from the east will support quiet weather for the rest of
the period.
