Discussion...as of 3:00 PM PDT Thursday...continued cooler than 
normal. 


Thanks to the clouds finally leaving most communities...temperatures 
are warming up back to close to the values from yesterday. Most 
places are still on track to be between 5 and 10 degrees cooler than 
normal. Current marine layer has been between 1000 and 1400 feet 
through the day while the onshore flow has been between 3 and 4 mb. 
Winds were fairly light through the day today and in typical fashion 
have started to gust this afternoon with the strongest winds near 
the los Vaqueros Reservoir along with the ksfo/San Bruno gap area. 


For the forecast...no significant changes are expected over the next 
five days as periods of clouds and patchy fog during overnight hours 
along with highs ranging from 50s right at the coast to the 90s over 
the hottest spots inland will continue. Breezy conditions can be 
expected all afternoons especially for any east-West Gap locations such as 
the San Bruno area. Synoptically...a 500 mb trough moving toward the 
coast will pass to the north by Saturday. This should help to deepen 
the marine layer a bit which in turn will keep temperatures at their 
colder than normal values for Friday. Temperatures will moderate and 
rebound to near normal by Sunday as a ridge build in. No big storms 
or heatwave expected through all of next week.

Aviation...as of 4:30 PM PDT Thursday...little change in parameters 
since yesterday afternoon both in terms of onshore flow and depth of 
the marine layer. Thus...expect low ceilings to develop at ksfo around 
04z and at other terminals at times similar to yesterday 
afternoon/evening. Winds at ksfo from the west at 20g25 knots through 
03z before slowly diminishing.
